LCT sees itself as a development partner – from the creative brainstorming to the production of high-quality prototypes and small series. We advise companies on the selection of suitable technologies and materials, with a focus on composite materials.
Design Sketches
The fiber-reinforced brake disc for bicycles went through a typical LCT product development process – starting with the visualization of ideas / design sketches, through material and technology-appropriate constructive solutions, their CAD modeling and implementation by means of additive manufacturing (AM) to the finished prototype.
As a result, in cooperation with our cooperation partner, a specialist in finishing, – Ingo Fischer Protobau GmbH – fiber-reinforced, high-strength bicycle brake discs were produced which, despite having a friction layer on both sides, are only 2 mm thick.
When developing new products, our customers also benefit from our design expertise. We focus on product aesthetics, user-friendliness, and material efficiency as well as durability and sustainable manufacturing.

LCT recently created a design for the casing of an air purification device, a current project that is highly relevant during the corona pandemic. The design of air disinfection devices is based on ventilation of air through an array of lamps with wavelengths in the UVC range. The UVC radiation damages DNA, which renders the virus inactive or even kills the virus.
In particular, we designed the housing for two varieties of this system. One was the smaller version of this air filter system, which disinfects approx. 600 m³/h and was developed for rooms with an area of up to 120 m² (e. g. hospital rooms, classrooms, course rooms, practices or offices). The other was the larger, also mobile air disinfection device with room air disinfection of up to 2,000 m³/h is predestined for open-plan offices, conference halls and public facilities such as sports facilities or exhibition halls.
LCT was responsible for the product design and its visualization using CAD modeling and rendering.
